The Local Exchange Trading System (LETS) is a non-profit community organisation which enables its members to exchange goods and services with each other without using traditional currency.
Earn units doing things you enjoy, spend your units on things or services you need. One unit is equivalent to one dollar. We have a monthly market at Payneham, and have just started up a market at Charleston in the Adelaide Hills.
Come along and see LETS in action at one of our regular market trading days!
Saturday 21st January – One Planet Market
Regular Market and Trading Day, held on every 3rd Saturday of the month.
374 Payneham Road, Payneham – 9am until 12pm – held outdoors (weather permitting)
In addition to LETS market stalls, the One Planet Market also has a produce swap stall for fruit, veggies, seeds, and seedlings, along with a Freecycle swap table for good quality second hand goods.
The Repair Cafe is also open, and skilled volunteers will also be there from 9:30am, to help with electrical, electronic, mechanical and sewing repair jobs as well as tinkering of toys, glueing of household items, sharpening tasks and locksmith problems.
Sunday 29th January – Fleurieu LETS Market
Regular Market and Trading Day, held on the last Sunday of each month.
8.30-11am, held at Ekhidna Wines, 67 Branson road, Mclaren Vale
Our sister LETS system in the Fleurieu holds a regular market on the last Sunday of each month – Adelaide LETS members can trade with other systems including interstate systems, so come on down to beautiful Mclaren Vale and see what’s on offer.
To be Confirmed – Adelaide Hills Summer Market
Regular Market and Trading Day, held quarterly.
Charleston Hall, Newman Road, Charleston – only 35 mins from the CBD!
10am-1pm, held both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting)
After the success of our first LETS Hills Spring Fair, we are looking to hold this regular market and get together on a quarterly basis. Watch this space for more details.
